dinosaur wants to visit other dinosaurs so she can see the differences in size
herself.
Reaction: Part of the
Dinosaur Train Series, knowledge/familiarity of the series will automatically
connect children to the plot. As with many dinosaur books, Big and Small
focuses on different dinosaur species, and their characteristics, to teach
children about concepts and about vocabulary.
Primary early literacy skills: Print Awareness. Although vocabulary plays a big part in this title,
the main concept of size, and associated words, are emphasized through use of a
different font, a larger font size, and different colors for the typeface.
Recommended ages: 3 and
up.
